Man if I had a good camera like a professional one, I could take such awesome pictures. My birthday’s July 2nd. Hint hint. Just kidding, the one I want is like a few hundred dollars at least.
best-of-my-love asked: I just seen Bret's facebook status on schooling. Even though we plan to send our kids to traditional schools, it was really eye-opening, and very well said. I think it's so cool how you guys both agree on parenting decisions and how you got him to not only research, but also advocate for things you both feel passionate about. You should be super proud of him! You both rock!
The Problem with 'Boys Will Be Boys' →
For months, every morning when my daughter was in preschool, I watched her construct an elaborate castle out of blocks, colorful plastic discs, bits of rope, ribbons and feathers, only to have the same little boy gleefully destroy it within seconds of its completion.
No matter how many times he did it, his parents never swooped in BEFORE the morning’s live 3-D reenactment of “Invasion of...

themommarobin asked: I totally recommend a pixie! I'm growing my hair out an inch or two for once because they're so much fun to play with, and make anyone look so stylish without really trying. I think you'd kill one, babe. :)
Why aren't more people freaking out about the new...

You know, the one that gives housewives/full-time mothers a pension— wages for housework?
It’s ONLY A HUGE VICTORY FOR FEMINISM, SOCIALISM, AND WOMEN OF COLOR. Not a big deal or anything. Tumblr is mysteriously silent about this.

That’s what I’m thinking! Less shampoo, kids won’t be pulling it all the time. Right now my hair just hangs there and it’s kind of a pain in the ass. Plus unless I blow dry it, it takes like three hours to air dry. -.-
naturalbornmother said: idk about pixie cut, I’d start with above shoulders, like an inch or two past your chin :)
I’ve done that before and it’s boring. I’m pretty sure I’m going to end up getting the pixie cut, it’s something I’ve never done before. :)
So I’ve noticed when I’m out and people assume Izzy is a boy I never correct them because it doesn’t really matter to me but when I’m with someone else they always point it out and make the person feel embarrassed and I’m like why?
Also apparently if your baby does not have a bow in its hair it is a boy.
Circumcision
sc0li:
People often ask me why I feel so anti-circumcision. Today, someone told me that I ‘make every parent who chooses circumcision feel like a monster’. Two things. 1. It is a violation of your son’s human rights. Plain and simple. Why? Because if anyone laid a knife on a newborn girl, and got caught, they would go to prison. They would lose their medical license, and their lives would be...

How long did you breastfeed your child for?
12 months next Saturday, still going.
17 months and counting.
32 months and counting

24 months, and sometimes she nurses more than her 2 1/2 month old brother.
5 months and going strong :)
marceline-the-vegan-queen said: she was born at home or was she at the doctors for that? also any vaccinations?
She was born at home, no vaccinations :)
Anonymous asked: This might sound crazy, but I want you to be pregnant again! I love hearing about your kids so much and to me, you seem like one of the most perfect parents ever! Do you plan to have more children?

Isabella’s 5 month update!
Still exclusively breastfed; I tried to give her a bottle again a couple of days ago and she just gnawed on it. She had no idea what to do with it. Right now the plan is to skip bottles and introduce sippies in a month or so if she wants them. She typically only nurses for 5 minutes or less at a time unless she is falling asleep. She still nurses at least every...

So this morning I was laying in bed with my girls and suddenly Sophie says, “Oh, look mommy! Itsy spider up der on top!” So I look up and sure enough, there’s a fucking spider crawling on the ceiling right above us. Holy shit. I hate spiders. I probably scared her because I screamed. >.<
